Gnewt Cargo are partnered with the Mayor of London on a project to test the performance of electric delivery vans in central London to reduce air pollution and CO₂ emissions. Gnewt Cargo is an established electric delivery specialist operating last mile deliveries. This two-year trial will test a set of innovative new electric delivery vans. The trial vans' performance will be tested against comparable diesel delivery vans.

The trial is part of the Low Emission Freight and Logistics trial funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) in partnership with Innovate UK.

By introducing Sunamp cold and heat batteries we aim to decouple the power requirements of the fridge unit and cabin heating from the drive train extending the vehicle operational range. The 10.6m, ambient trailer replaces 2 x rigid vehicles from the retailers fleet and services their Flagship Oxford Street Store (London), removing over 800 journeys per year and generating significant cost savings. With a tight turning circle and improved maneuverability compared to most rigids, the trailer is able to access even the tightest of city centre stores.

The trailer incorporates Transdek’s innovative Twin Slide rear doors and new taillift design both of which offer enhanced safety features for both drivers and pedestrians. 

Truck Door Windows are designed/manufactured utilizing more than 40 years’ experience in the repair of major accident damage to trucks and buses. They are constructed using a single glazed type approved glass bonded into the door to retain structural integrity to prevent condensation and make cleaning easy. Truck Door Windows install on all makes/models of truck. An option is available to lower passenger cab window without window mechanism being visible through them. More than 80% of cycling fatalities happen when the cyclist is to the front left of the lorry where it’s difficult for the driver to see them. It is obvious, therefore, a clear vision panel in the passenger door is the answer to help reduce fatalities/accidents.

ULEMCo Ltd is a global leader in hydrogen technologies for commercial vehicles.  For larger vehicles, the company offers their H2ICED® approach, which enables conversion of engines to run on mixes of hydrogen with diesel, in applications such as vans, rigid HGV and marine engines. Making its UK début will be an FE-Electric 26-tonne chassis cab. With zero tailpipe emissions and a range of 125 miles, it is specially designed for ‘final mile’ deliveries in urban areas.

Our LNG-powered FH tractor unit illustrates the ranges available next year with integrated 7” screen dashboard cameras. The lower, FM version can be specified with safety features like factory-fitted lower passenger door windows.

Outside our Low-height FM 4x2 urban tractor, offers visibility, side protection and a 270o camera system offering optimum vision in cities.
