Mercedes-Benz and FUSO Trucks UK are demonstrating continued future thinking under the new value proposition “Road Efficiency” under the three pillars of Low Total Costs through fuel efficiencies, Greater Safety through advanced safety technologies and Maximised Use with improved vehicle connectivity and downtime response.
Mercedes-Benz Econic, a class leader in safety and manoeuvrability with its Direct Vision cab, is the ideal truck for cities. Known predominantly in the industry for its refuse collection, the Econic is making waves in built up urban areas from uses in the construction sector, to distribution and delivery.
The FUSO Canter, sold and serviced through the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Network, opens the doors to the future of business in cities, with vehicles covering 3.5-tonne to 8.5-tonnes including the efficient 7.5t Eco Hybrid. The FUSO Canter self-charging Eco Hybrid is perfect for making the most of congested city traffic. Under way, the truck sets off in electric mode and after it reaches 6mph, the diesel engine kicks in. Energy is stored in the battery every time the user slows down below 6mph or brakes. The stored energy during this period then helps the driver accelerate, consuming less fuel and improving driver efficiency.
Calor is the UK’s leading supplier of off-grid energy, providing clean, efficient solutions to businesses nationwide. If you’re currently using diesel to fuel your commercial vehicle fleet, there’s now a better way.
Calor’s expert transport solutions enable your business to reduce fuel costs, carbon emissions and particulates considerably. In addition, our gas fuelled engines offer a quieter alternative, allowing deliveries in noise restricted areas.

The objective of the Noise Abatement Society is to raise awareness of, and find solutions to, noise pollution and pollutants related to solving noise issues, for example light disturbance and air pollution. Our work helps to relieve the physical and mental distress and ill health which noise and related pollutants cause and which profoundly affect public health, productivity, the quality of human and wildlife. Now celebrating its 50th year, the Society was established in 1959 by John Connell OBE who successfully lobbied the Noise Abatement Act through Parliament in 1960, establishing noise as a statutory nuisance for the first time in the UK.
