Gordon Sutherland

Tideway
Gordon Sutherland is the Traffic & Road Logistics Manager for Tideway, the company building the Thames Tideway Tunnel, known as the ‘Super-sewer’.
He developed the project’s road logistics strategy to support its commitment to address work-related road risk. Gordon started his working life as a postal cadet with Royal Mail in 1983. He went on to undertake UK-wide logistics management roles with them. In 2005, he joined TfL’s Freight Unit to develop and implement FORS.
After the launch of the London Freight Plan in 2007, Gordon left TfL and went into rail logistics, then Crossrail. He joined Tideway in 2013.
