Mercedes-Benz Trucks eMobility roundtable broadcast in association with Motor Transport 30/03/2021 With the UK aiming to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and Europe’s truckmakers pledging to end sales of diesel vehicles by 2040, electro-mobility is going to play a huge role in road freight transport in the next 20 years. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is proud to be leading this transformation, and has a clear strategy for decarbonising its full range of goods vehicles from 3.5 tonnes.
This roundtable broadcast will be hosted by Motor Transport Editor Steve Hobson, with an introduction from Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK Managing Director Wolfgang Theissen, and a presentation from Professor Dr Uwe Baake, Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Product Engineering at Daimler Truck AG.
They will cover key practical aspects of making the switch to zero emissions, presenting Daimler’s battery electric trucks, and discussing vehicle range, payload, and maintenance schedules, not to mention all-important infrastructure requirements.
The roundtable will also be attended by a number of entrepreneurial companies looking to decarbonise their operations. These companies currently include representatives from an online retailer, a parcel delivery specialist, a logistics company, a supermarket and a local authority operator.
